Women's Criminal Justice Recovery Navigator – Northumberland Location: Northumberland Rate: £18 – £22 per hour (depending on experience and payment method) Hours: Monday to Friday, Full-Time (Part-Time considered) Contract: 3 Months Minimum (with potential for extension) Belmont Recruitment are currently seeking an empathetic and dedicated Women’s Criminal Justice Recovery Navigator to join a supportive team in Northumberland. This role is focused on supporting women in or at risk of involvement in the criminal justice system, with a focus on their recovery from addiction, trauma, and other complex needs. As a Recovery Navigator, you will provide person-centred support, guiding women through their recovery journey while helping them access the necessary services and resources. You’ll be working in partnership with statutory agencies, support networks, and other services to create positive outcomes for women navigating the criminal justice system. Key Responsibilities: * Act as a recovery-focused point of contact for women involved in the criminal justice system, offering support for their rehabilitation and reintegration * Develop and implement individualised recovery plans in collaboration with the women, considering their unique needs, including substance misuse, mental health, and trauma * Work closely with probation services, courts, social services, housing providers, and local community support networks * Support women to access drug and alcohol treatment services, mental health support, housing, and employment opportunities * Provide practical support, advocacy, and motivation for women as they work through their recovery process * Deliver recovery-focused interventions and group work, including relapse prevention and life skills * Maintain accurate records, ensuring adherence to safeguarding and confidentiality protocols Requirements: * Experience working with women in criminal justice, particularly in recovery, substance misuse, or rehabilitation * Strong understanding of the challenges faced by women in the justice system, including trauma, addiction, mental health issues, and domestic violence * Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and build rapport with vulnerable individuals * Knowledge of recovery pathways, harm reduction strategies, and multi-agency collaboration * Ability to provide emotional support, encouragement, and practical guidance in complex situations * Full UK driving licence and access to transport is desirable but not essential This is a rewarding role that will allow you to make a real impact on the lives of women in the criminal justice system, supporting them to overcome barriers and achieve lasting recovery.
